Fernando Roig
Born in Poble Nou (Valencia), since 1997 Fernando Roig has been the president of one of the most brilliant football teams in the Spanish league - Villarreal. He also presides companies such as Pamesa Cerámica, Encersa and Renomar and is a shareholder in Mercadona, the largest Valencian company today, and he is now the president of Valmor Sport.
He is the fifth of seven children of a Valencian family with a long business tradition. From an early age the young Fernando started to work with his father in his farming businesses and his first executive post was a department director at Cárnicas Roig.
Fernando Roig has become one of the main architects of projects in the Valencian Community. Football drives his feelings and passions, and he has become one of the most well known celebrities in Spain thanks to his post as president of Villareal F.C., and at the same time he is a man who is admired for his hand-tohand fighting spirit against some of the greatest and strongest European teams.
The sale of gas, his perspective for the future in tiles and wind energy are other entrepreneurial activities of this Valencian businessman who has now taken up the reins of Formula 1 in Valencia.
