Valencia (01/10/2007).- The President of the Generalitat, Francisco Camps, emphasized that the new circuit, which will open Valencia to the sea and which will host the European Grand Prix, will be the presentation card to the world for all the Spanish "because -he added- in the Comunitat Valenciana, we know how to do things, so that we all feel proud to be Valencian and Spanish".
The President of the Generalitat, Francisco Camps, accompanied by the Mayoress of Valencia, Rita Barberá, made these declarations during the construction works opening ceremony for the extension of the Alameda-Avenida de Francia to the Port of Valencia and the development of the Juan Carlos I Marina, the area where the future Formula One circuit will lie.
During the ceremony, the President of the Council assured that the constant and intense work shows the world that, in Spain and in the Comunitat, "things get done, no matter how ambitious". "We all win with this project", stated Camps, and he added that the Comunitat, once again, demonstrates its capacity for taking on international challenges, no matter how high-powered and ambitious they are.
The President invited all the Spanish people to enjoy this grand prix "for Valencia and for all of Spain". And so, he declared that "all the Spanish people are open to enjoying a project that is shared by all" .
Camps highlighted the "strength, bravery and excitement" of the Valencians in tackling the challenges of the future and in adding to the collective project in Spain.
He also thanked the efforts of all those, who worked and who, are working to make the Formula One urban circuit a reality in the coming months, and to hold the European Grand Prix in the city of Valencia this coming August 24, 2008.
