Valencia (09/05/07).- The President de la Generalitat, Francisco Camps, has stated this morning that having in Valencia an Urban Circuit is the same thing that having in the Comunitat the Olympic Games and the World Fair at the same time and "repeat them every year regarding to the impact and the international renown of the Comunitat Valenciana in the World".

Francisco Camps, who has met Bernie Ecclestone this morning at The Palau de les Arts to present the Valencian Urban Circuit has stated how intense and exciting has been the work carried out to achieve this "investment in the future, a project for Valencia, Spain and Europe".

The President has stressed that everything in Valencia is ready for the start of the Formula One in autumn 2008 with an Urban Circuit that has born with the vocation of following with the worldwide exposure of Valencia and the Comunitat Valenciana.

The competition will be named Grand Prix of Europe and it will last for 7 years at least since autumn 2008, " although - has enpahsized Camps - the idea is that these 7 years can be the first of more than 50 years of Urban Formula One at Valencia".

Formula One is, "already a reality in the Comunitat Valenciana, that has achieved to be a place that attracts all the glances in the World and where these kind of bets are put in motion", has said Camps.

The President has ensured the Urban Circuit of Valencia "will be the best in the World, nothing to do with all the known until now, in the parameters of a modern society that bets for the future and knows that these kind of aspirations get their results".

Camps has explained that the Comunitat Valenciana has brought the biggest events that could take place in any city of the World, The America's Cup, The Formula One and the Volvo Ocean Race.

Moreover, Camps has said that The Grand Prix of Valencia joins the other one that takes place in Spain, so "it complets the offer of Formula One in our Country, one of the few Countries in the World that have two Grand Prixes of Formula One".

The Circuit uses the present space of the Port America's Cup and a part of the city that has to be developed in the next years, as the prolongation of the Paseo de la Alameda and of the Avenida de Francia. "Therefore, the Circuit is not going to run for any developed street" has stated Camps.

"We are in the presence of an Urban Circuit where all the security parameters will be over than in conventional circuits", has ensured. He has also communicated that the project is already ordered and it is being revised by the technical experts of the Spanish motoring federations and by the International federation and that the works will start at about June.

In these sense, has stated that the society Valmor Sport has been constituted. The Valencian bussinnessman Fernando Roig, Jose Luis Olivas - as President of Bancaja- and the ex-rider Jorge Martínez "Aspar" are part of this society and it will "carry with order and coherence The Grand Prix at Valencia through".

Camps has considered that "everything is compatible and everything matches in an ordered, serious and coherent way, so everything is arranged to start this project".

500 million TV viewers and a profit of 70 million Euros

On the other hand, he has bring information about the benefits of the celebration of the Grand Prix and has standt out that it will have 500 million of TV viewers all around the World, what means that the 10% of the World's population will follow the celebration of the event. Furthermore, the Comunitat will get a return of 70 million Euros with the celebration of each Grand Prix.

In this sense, has reminded that the America's Cup has generated 70.000 jobs and 2.400 million Euros of return in wealth for the Comunitat Valenciana and that the profits of the Grand Prix will be added to those.

Finally, the President has thanked Bernie Ecclestone for his nearness to the project because "he believed in the Comunitat Valenciana and in the city of Valencia to be able to hold this Grand Prix that today is already a reality".

He has also enpahsized the presence of the representatives of Telefónica and El Corte Inglés and he has valued their bet for the Urban Circuit in Valencia what "corroborates that we are in the presence of a project of everybody, of the Comunitat Valenciana and of all Spain".

The best of all the existing Circuits

Bernie Ecclestone has stated that "the Urban Circuit of Valencia will be the best ever built, even better than some of the existing at the present".

Ecclestone has valued the work of the President Camps as "a great job carried out for Valencia's benefit" as well.

On the other hand, Fernando Roig has described his participation in the society Valmor Sport, that will administer the organization of the Grand Prix, as a "personal challenge" and has stated that he expects "to do a Formula One 'of a Champions level' to locate Valencia in the top of the World".

The Mayoress of Valencia, Rita Barberá, has stated that with this project Valencia "has achieved other of its greatest dreams. Valencia already has, with the America's Cup, the Formula One of the sea and, since now, it will enjoy the Formula One of the motoring with a fantastic Circuit".
