Valencia (12/08/2008).- The Generalitat, in collaboration with the Cartographic Institute of Valencia, which forms part of the Department of the Environment, Water, Urban Planning and Housing, has created a virtual map to provide all the necessary information about the Valencia Street Circuit to those attending the forthcoming F1 Grand Prix of Europe.
The Cartographic Institute of Valencia has created a high-resolution orthoimage of the streets of the urban circuit in Valencia, over which it has projected all the information of interest for the visitors of the Grand Prix. This information includes the access gates, the different stands and grandstands and other important areas within the circuit such as the boxes, the security checkpoints and first-aid facilities.
Besides this, the application shows members of the public the most appropriate route to their seats when they select the access gate and grandstand indicated on their ticket.
This application created by the Generalitat is available on the web pages of the Department of the Environment, Water, Urban Planning and Housing (www.cma.gva.es), of Infrastructures and Transport (www.cit.gva.es), and of Tourism (www.comunitatvalenciana.com). This virtual bird's-eye view is also available on the websites of the Cartographic Institute of Valencia (www.icv.gva.es) and the City Council of Valencia (www.valencia.es), and on the official website of the Grand Prix of Europe in Valencia.
