Valencia (22/08/2008).- The Valencia Street Circuit held five minutes silence this morning in memory of the victims of the air disaster at Barajas airport.

The occasion was presided by the President of the Valencian Council Francisco Camps, along with the mayor Rita Barberá. The president of FOM was also present, Bernie Ecclestone, director of the championship, Charlie Whiting and the president of the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, Carlos Gracia, the Director's Committee of Valmor Sports, the president Fernando Roig, Jorge Martínez Aspar and José Luis Olivas.

Most of the Formula 1 drivers joined them, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton , David Coulthard, Rubens Barrichello, Jenson Button, and the reigning champion Kimi Raikonnen, among others. The team managers were also present to express their sympathy.
